GREASE AND 'TIME TO SWING BY JOHN UDINE

Saturday, March 5 at the Teatro Nuovo in Udine performing the Swing Dance Orchestra. Founded in 1987 by Andrej Hermlin the footsteps of Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller, the training is conspicuous by fidelity to the repertoire of original instruments, original arrangements and no amps (only the singers use microphones, vintage of course). The Swing Dance Orchestra has a vast repertoire and multifaceted: it ranges from popular songs to boogie-woogie to rare arrangements of the 30 Americans, including tunes of Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Glenn Miller and many other stars of the era swing.
